She presents it in a friendly accessible way that allows you not only to reap the benefits but also have an understanding of the technique. She cured my RSI which had been an on going problem. Terrific teacher, highly recommend her!

The Alexander Technique is taught on a one-to-one basis and last for 40 minutes, first lesson up to 1 hour.

The cost of a lesson is 40 pounds (discounts available)

Discounts are available for NHS staff and public sector workers and children

During lessons you will discover a new you, with a new found sense of freedom of movement and increased energy.

You learn the Alexander Technique through one-to-one lessons with a qualified teacher who will address your individual needs.

Learning the Alexander Technique involves changing long-standing habits of movement, and relies on your active participation.

The number of lessons you take can be discussed with your teacher and depends on your particular needs and goals.

Your teacher will use gentle hands-on guidance and verbal explanations to help you find ease and balance within yourself in simple movements and everyday activities such as sitting, standing, walking or bending.

Through experience and observation you gain increased awareness, enabling you to change long-standing habits and to function more efficiently. In time you will be able to use your new understanding and skill in more complex and demanding activities; you can bring awareness and poise to anything you do.

Part of the lesson may include your lying down in the classic Alexander Technique semi-supine position which allows maximum support and relief for the back.

neck relief

Long term improvement

In Alexander lessons, teachers gently use their hands and verbal guidance to help the pupil release unnecessary tensions and learn to prevent those habitual patterns interfering with natural functioning.

This may be done in simple activities such as standing or sitting, walking or quietly lying down.

As the pupil’s eyes are opened to their habitual “mis-use” and they begin to change, they can apply what they are learning to any activity from washing up to singing to operating a VDU, playing golf, playing a piano- to every aspect of life.

I am a registered Teacher with the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT). I have a busy practice in Crouch End, North London, and my pupils travel from many local areas, such as Highgate, Muswell Hill, Finsbury Park,Stroud Green,Hornsey,Alexandra Palace and Finchley, as well as from central and North London

Parking available and I teach on Elmfield avenue N8 8QG

I have a stressful job and spend a lot of time on the computer. Since commencing lessons with Delphine, my symptoms have mainly abated.  I am very lucky to have found a teacher who not only understands the technique but is also able to convey it in a simple manner.

I first went to Delphine in pain and feeling that I would have to give up the job that I love. After 15 years as a student with her I am still working and have no pain. I cannot recommend this teacher enough and if I could give 10 stars I would!

Because of Alexander and the way Delphine just passes this information into you through her calm voice and hands , I feel that it’s a part of my life now and that The practice   I do at home which I made any excuse to get out of is part of the day I look forward to ! I can’t see myself stopping because the benefits are so huge !! Thankyou Delphine
